Dr Lemya Abdalla is a Consultant Geriatrician who specialises in acute and sub-acute Geriatric medicine.  

Dr Abdalla graduated from the University of Gezira with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and completed MRCP exams (Uk) in 2017. She has extensive experience working in internal medicine in the Middle East for over 10 years before migrating to Australia in 2014. 

She became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in 2022 having completed her basic physician training in Toowoomba and undertook Geriatric advanced training at Mater Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital and Prince Charles Hospital. 

Dr Abdalla returned to Toowoomba in 2022 for a permanent position as a Geriatric and Rehabilitation Consultant at Toowoomba Hospital. 

Practice Locations

Dr Abdalla provides comprehensive outpatient geriatric services and consultation at Residential Aged Care facilities and is a participant of the Geriatric On-Call Roster, at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. 

Dr Abdalla’s private consulting rooms are located at Infinity Specialists, Level 2 of St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. Dr Abdalla also holds a permanent position at Toowoomba Hospital.  

Areas of Interest

Dr Abdalla has a special interest and shows significant passion towards certain areas of geriatric medicine. These include the diagnosis and management of acute and subacute geriatric syndromes, comprehensive geriatric assessments of the elderly, post stroke management, appropriate deprescribing, falls and osteoporosis, peri-operative management with an orthogeriatric model of care.
