Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders
Parkinson’s disease is a movement disorder, affecting an area of the brain that controls movement.
It is generally characterized by four major physical symptoms:
- Tremor; shaking
- Rigidity; stiffness
- Bradykinesia; slowness of movements
- Postural instability; difficult with balance
The nature and severity of symptoms, rate of progression and response to treatment differ with each person.
