Dr Emerald Setbo is a Geriatrician who specialises in the management of geriatric syndromes from diagnosis to palliative care.

Originally from the Gold Coast, Dr Setbo graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from Griffith University Medical school with first class honours in 2010, after completing an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from the University of Queensland in 2005. Dr. Setbo trained in Queensland and has experience in orthogeriatrics, acute care of the older person, delirium and dementia care, geriatric rehabilitation and community geriatrics. Dr Setbo has held a position as a staff specialist geriatrician at Royal Hobart Hospital before joining Infinity Specialists in 2019.

She holds a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine undertaken at The Prince Charles Hospital in 2018. She was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with specialisation in Adult Medicine, in Australia 2018.

Dr Emerald Setbo is committed to providing high quality, comprehensive geriatric and palliative care to the aging population of Toowoomba and surrounding regions.

Practice Locations

Dr Emerald Setbo provides regular community based consults (including in-home visits and consultations at Residential Aged Care facilities). Home visit consultations are available in Toowoomba, Pittsworth, Allora, Killarney and Warwick.

Dr Setbo also provides medical inpatient care and specialist consultation at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital and St Andrew’s Hospital.

Dr Setbo’s private consulting rooms are located at Infinity Specialists, Level 2 of St. Vincent’s Private Hospital.

Dr Emerald Setbo has specialist clinics in the diagnosis and management of cognitive disorders (memory clinic), comprehensive geriatric assessment for the patient with complex chronic disease including pre-operative assessment, and palliative care of the older person. Inpatient consultation is available for perioperative care, delirium and dementia management as well as geriatric palliative care. She is a part of the St Vincent’s hospital acute geriatric and stroke on call roster.

When not at work, Emerald can be found at the gym, the beach or at live music events.
